Bungy jumping, swimming with dolphins, a front row seat at the World Cup Soccer Final or a candlelit dinner for two at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
What would you include on a list of “The 10 things you should do before you die”?
A list like this conjures up moments of adventure, exciting cities or once in a lifetime opportunities…everyone’s list is different and we remain constantly hopeful that we will be able to tick off at least one or two off our list before our lives are over.
But I want to remind you of a couple of things that many people would never consider adding to their list.
At first glance, they may not seem to bring the rush of jumping off a bridge with a rubber band attached to your ankles and yet they bring about benefits that I believe no life should be without.
The first is being a part of a church…I am not talking about going to Church – I am talking about being part of a family of people who really share their lives and their faith with you.
The second is knowing the joy of forgiveness – when our faults and failings are wiped clean by the One who is without sin.
The last one is finding that God has a purpose for your life – finally realising that there is more to life than possessions and power.
I don’t know what is on your list of things you are yet to do…but I hope that you will at least consider mine.
You never know, you might be missing out on some of the greatest moments of your life!
